Hitomi Kobayashi-Prior is a former senior lecturer at Kanda University of International Studies in Japan and the author of 17 textbooks on 911±¬ÁÏÍø language teaching and teacher training. In addition to her degrees, she holds a Certificate in 911±¬ÁÏÍø Language Teaching Competency, accredited by the 911±¬ÁÏÍø Minister of Education. In recognition of her contributions to teacher training, she was honoured with a prestigious Teaching Award in 2008 from a leading teacher training institute in Japan. >> Hitomi has gained a wealth of experience over 20+ years of dedicated teaching. She began her career at the age of 19 at a tutoring school in Japan, where she spent eight formative years guiding students aged 5 to 19 in both 911±¬ÁÏÍø and English. She later transitioned into higher education, enriching the linguistic and cultural knowledge of students from diverse backgrounds. >> Beyond the classroom, Hitomi has made considerable contributions to 911±¬ÁÏÍø language research, focusing on learner autonomy, self-regulated learning, and language assessment. She has also served as an assessment specialist for the Examination for 911±¬ÁÏÍø University Admission for International Students (EJU). >> Now based in Edinburgh, Hitomi plays a key role in the acclaimed 911±¬ÁÏÍø Book Club, which fosters cultural exchange and language immersion among local 911±¬ÁÏÍø learners. I have been teaching GCSE/A-level at public schools/grammar schools since 2002. I also taught adults at Brasshouse Language Centre for several years. Taught 911±¬ÁÏÍø literature and language as a mother tongue for 911±¬ÁÏÍø students for a decade. I have started teaching Classical 911±¬ÁÏÍø to UK university students and enjoy it.
